Nagaland Minister for Tourism & Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, has downplayed a reported probe against him by the Mumbai Police, referring to it as a "normal business dispute."
The clarification came following a viral news report by India Today about a probe by the Mumbai Police against him in a legal dispute.
Speaking to the media, Minister Along explained that the case dates back to 2014-2015, well before his tenure in the government or as an elected representative.
Terming the issue as 'very old,' he explained that it arose during his time in Mumbai, involving a business deal with a company named Hazel Mercantile Limited.
"A lot of time has elapsed, and due to some disputes in business, there are delays and some problems that have arisen," he claimed.
"It is a matter for the court, which I accept," said Along, adding that he has informed his leaders about the issue, and they are fully aware of the situation.
Stating that there will be cases and problems until it is resolved, he remarked, "These are just normal business disputes, which have not been settled."
"I will make sure these problems are resolved according to the appeal that has been made in court," stated the Minister.
