
Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC) has expressed “shock” and condemned the firing incident that took place in Peren District on September 6.
The NPC in a press release issued by its Chairman, Pedi Miachieo stated that September 6 is a “remarkable day for the Nagas as it is a day for Peace.”
“It was on this day an agreement for cease fire was signed between the Government of India and FGN, ceasing the hostilities and embracing peace,” it said.
It further stated that the NPC condemns the September 6 incident, and “is of the strong view that no good would come by hatred and enmity.”
It urged the “conflicting parties to embrace peace and forgiveness and settle the issue amicably” and also urged the Nagas in general that “violence would only beget violence but we love and pray for our enemies, the summit of love is achieved.”
