
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 8 (MExN): The Public Grievances Department of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has demand for clarification and investigations on several development projects Japukong, especially Alongtaki, lakhuni and Longchem.
A press release from Er Meshenlo Kath, Co-Chairman, PGD-NPCC and Esther Therie, Secretary, PGD-NPCC referred to the construction of waiting shed at Alongtaki Village under Japukong (LADP 2019-2020). It said that Rs 15 lakhs was approved by SDPDB and verification committee members have issued completion certificate. The Public Grievances Department sought clarification from the administration heads of Alongtaki as to why completion certificates are being issued where no works are being initiated.
Further, it posed questions on construction of link road, Japukong for which Rs 13.2 lakhs was approved and sanctioned by the SDPDB; and construction of a waiting shed for which Rs 7.5 lakhs was approved and sanctioned by the SDPDB.
It informed that the link road has not been initiated so far and the waiting shed is “non-existent.” The PGD demanded immediate verification by the Alongtaki Administration and execution of the work as per the amount sanctioned.
With regard to a multipurpose hall at Lakhuni, the NPCC said that the Ministry of Tribal affairs allotted an amount of Rs 1,00,00,000 (One Crore) and as per RTI reply 30% (30Lakhs) of the fund has been withdrawn.
Another project it focused on was construction of internal road at Longchem EAC HQ. It informed that Rs 50 lakhs was allocated by the Tribal Affairs Ministry and an RTI report shows that 30% (15 Lakhs) of the amount has been withdrawn.
Further, it said that regarding construction of a health centre at Alongtaki, an amount of Rs 40 lakhs was allocated for the work and an RTI report show that 30% (12 Lakhs) has been withdrawn.
The NPCC said that wven after withdrawal of 30% amount from the above listed projects the ground reality of work progress remains “nil.” It reminded the firms M/S Zenith Enterprise and Skyline Enterprise to start the work at earliest.
