TSEMINYU, AUGUST 24 (MExN): The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) organised the Red Run Marathon on August 24 at Tseminyu District. The marathon which was flagged off by Ruokuosetuo Tetso, EAC Tseminyu, started from Tseminyu old Town junction to Tsokhinsin junction and culminated at petrol pump Tseminyu.
District Program Officer, Sentimongla said the purpose of marathon race was to encourage youth for participation in sports and to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among the public.
She also said the winners in the male and female category would represent the District and further participate in State level competition. District AIDS control officer, Dr Chepenthung Kithan presented certificate to the participants while Ruokuosetuo Tetso, EAC Tseminyu presented cash and certificate to the winners.
Altogether, 20 person took part in the rally. In the women’s category, Behisha Kent from Baptist Higher Secondary School Tseminyu secured 1st position; 2nd positing went to Abenle Tep, GHSS Tseminyu and 3rd to Soyhule, GHSS Tseminyu. In the men’s category, Johny from Mt Terogvu Theological College Zunpha, Phatimoseb from GHSS Tseminyu 1st runner up and Shalo Kath from Mt Terogvu Theological College Zunpha, 2nd runner up.
