NSCN (IM) Chakhesang, Konyak, Panmi regions and KTU reaffirm support to FA

Dimapur, September 27 (MExN): The Chakhesang, Pangmi, Konyak regions and Kuki Tribal Union of the NSCN (IM) on Sunday reaffirmed their support to the demand for Naga solution based on the Framework Agreement signed between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India (GoI) on August 3, 2015.

In a press release issued by it CAO on Sunday, the Chakhesang National Workers cautioned the Government of India to exercise democratic maturity and political will to give recognition to the Naga flag and Yehzabo (constitution) which, it said, are the inherent identity of the Naga political movement.

It is therefore, natural that Naga solution without the Naga flag and Yehzabo (constitution) will be incomplete and unacceptable to the Naga people, it stated.

The Konyak Region CAO and Secretary also issued a statement on stating that nothing concrete has yielded over the long drawn political conflict and instead “so many deeds and agreements of the past has brought nothing but further division and hatred were instilled in the minds of the people.” “Until and unless we realise and pursue the right cause we’ll be left at the mercy of our adversaries,” it claimed.

As such, the Konyak Region, NSCN (IM) stated that it would uphold and firmly support the FA, while stating it’s belief that “this is the right platform to peacefully settle the Indo-Naga Political issue basing on the uniqueness of the Naga history to co-exist as two entities with separate Naga national Flag and Yehzabo (Constitution).”

Further, all rank and file of the Pangmi Region ‘unanimously’ reiterated its stand and support to the FA during a meeting at the Regional Office on September 26, a statement from the Secretary, Pangmi Region of NSCN (IM) said on Sunday.

The house also resolved to reaffirm its stance on the Naga national Flag and Yehzabo (Constitution) that must form a part of the Indo-Naga political solution in order to qualify the Naga deal as ‘honourable and acceptable,’ it added.

Meanwhile, the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) issued a separate statement informing that it had resolved to continue supporting Naga solution based on the Framework Agreement, during a meeting at the Council Headquarters (CHQ), Hebron on September 25.

Naga solution should include Naga flag and Yehzabo (constitution), without which it is not acceptable, it said, while appealing both the Government of India and NSCN to hammer out the solution that is honorable and acceptable to the Nagas.
