NSCN (IM) mourns Sarang’s demise 

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed its grief over the the untimely demise of Colonel Sunlight Mangkung Sarang, MSM of the General Headquarters (GHq), Naga Army on the September 29.  

Hailing from Sorbung village under Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR), he joined the Naga national service on March 27, 1991, informed a condolence message from MIP, NSCN (IM).

Sarang served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise and the void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in, it said, but adding that his selfless contributions to the Naga national cause “shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and he shall be remembered for all time to come.”

“The Longvibu of the Naga Army has bestowed upon him posthumously the rank of Brigadier on the September 29 in recognition of his service to the Naga nation,” it further informed. 

“The NSCN/GPRN conveys deep condolences to the bereaved family members of (L) Brigadier Sunlight Mangkung Sarang, MSM. It is our prayers that the Almighty God will comfort his family members during this time of grief,” it added. “We pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace.”
