Dimapur, May 27 (MExN): The GPRN while blaming the Shillong Accord of 1975 and the abortive coup dictate of 1988 as the cause for the division and difference between what it termed “the traitors and the patriots among the Naga brothers” has expressed unhappiness over mass-based Naga organizations condemning the assassination of NSCN (K) Kilonser Ngampan. The GPRN maintained that “the people without vision simply shout while brothers kill brothers”. Thus, unavoidably in defense of National principle, a “holy war” is being waged between the ‘true nationalists’ and the anti-elements”, a MIP, GPRN release stated.
“The NSCN is pained to see (that) responsible Naga organizations are pouring condemnation over the action and glorifying those anti-Naga elements” the GPRN release stated. “The Khaplang group and the NNC, despite their act of capitulation, shamelessly claimed as national workers without doing anything on the ground for the cause.
People without vision and clarity simply shout while brothers kill brothers. Here lies the problem with the people and the mass-based civil societies who fail to speak out the truth as to who is on which side. If the trend continues, it may cause more bloodshed and true unity may be hard to come” the GPRN maintained.
Maintaining that “according to the findings of Shongsem Battalion operation command, late Mr Ngampan Konyak was truly anti-Naga particularly anti-Konyak” and instead of repenting, continued to kill the patriots as well as the innocent. It maintained that the late Kilonser even went to the extent of opposing bringing of slain Konyak Naga army cadres to their native villages which, according to the GPRN, has been a Naga traditional practice. “Not only that, but also used to snatch the contributions made by the Konyak public towards the national cause. In his area alone many NSCN cadres were eliminated through his supervision. And he (Ngampan) has been stiffly opposing the current peace process. It is a matter of national responsibility to bring justice against any national traitors” the GPRN maintained. It expressed unhappiness that responsible Naga organizations are condemning “the action” and glorifying anti-Naga elements.
