NSCN (K) Major refute GPRN/NSCN charges

Kohima, September 9 (MExN): “Major” Khetovi of NSCN (K) has refuted the allegations levelled on him by rival GPRN/NSCN in the aftermath of the September 6 incident at Thahekhu Village stating that the charges levelled on him were just “cover-up” of the illegal acts being committed by GPRN/NSCN functionaries. In a statement “Major” Khetovi said that on allegations by the rivals that he misused money  from Ivory business, the NSCN (K) military functionary said that he mediated the business  rivalry that was on between the ivory businessmen for which he was paid Rs.1,20,000/- for settling the matter.

The said amount was then distributed to his boys under his command.  He however said one “Col” Hotoi of GPRN/NSCN demanded one lakh rupees from him out of the received amount for which he expressed his inability to do so as the money had already been distributed to the cadres under his command. On allegations that he was “put to trial and court martial” after being “fined and pocketed” Rs. 5,00,000 from ivory businessmen in the month of August, Khetovi said this statement was completely baseless adding that one Vikheto of Lhomithi village will stand to testify the entire mediation and transactions.

On the seizure of rice polishing machine used by Food Corporation of India (FCI), ‘major” Khetovi said illegal activities were being carried out under the close scanner of “Col” Hotoi of GPRN/NSCN but he took the initiative to seize the machine. The NSCN (K) functionary said that rice were polished and made to appear as high quality brand in the market and sold at rates much above the quality of the rice.

“Major” Khetovi asked the Naga people whether seizure of materials that were being used to cheat the people was at all “unjustified.” Khetovi said that “Col” Hotoi accused him of interfering in his business and demanded for return of the machine to FCI for which he obliged, he added.

On MIP GPRN/NSCN allegation that one truckload of banned Ghutka was seized and the consignment was “unloaded at his residence” but was released on “payment of undisclosed amount”, Khetovi said the seizure was made from an individual who can be contacted at 8974007044 and a fine of Rs.25,000/- was imposed on the owner and the seized item was kept by “Col” Hotoi of GPRN/NSCN.

This amount, Khetovi said was also distributed to his boys under his command and that the consignment was seized and taken away by him and therefore the allegation that he imposed fine with “undisclosed sum”, as alleged by MIP GPRN/NSCN did not arise.

The NSCN (K) functionary informed that in recent times, a huge consignment of banned drug Spasmo Proxyvon was seized from a person from Manipur under his command. However, “Col” Hotoi took over the case and thereafter “Leacy” Vikheshe and “Khapur” Khevihe from the GPRN/NSCN negotiated with the owner of the consignment, he added. Khetovi said that this incident is just one of many cases being dealt by “Col” Hotoi especially in banned drugs seizures.

Khetovi said that he had rendered “valuable” and “selfless” service to the GPRN/NSCN all the while but expressed regret that these services were deemed “not necessary” and termed as “rogues.” He said that despite all the illegal activities being carried out by GPRN/NSCN functionaries especially the likes of “Col” Hotoi who is “notorious” for petrol adulteration racket and several others, the authorities at GPRN/NSCN chose to shelter “criminals” working against the interest of Nagas and place the onus on sincere and dedicated functionaries. He said that he is still committed to the cause of the “nation” and would continue to do so despite the false allegations levelled on him by the rival faction adding that his conscience was clear that he had done no wrong towards the cause of the Nagas.
