Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation has written to the Nagaland Chief Minister stating it has no objection against enhancement of the superannuation age (presently it is 57 years).
The NSF also called for lifting the blanket ban on creation of government jobs. It has also stressed on 33 years as the maximum length of service “for fairness.”
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the NSF executives informed of various organizations demanding enhancement of the superannuation (retirement) age and the upper age-limit for entry into government service. In this regard, the Federation called for lifting the blanket ban on creation of government jobs; that the upper age-limit for entry into service be enhanced to 35 years (from 30 years). However, it stressed importance, as was expressed in an interaction with NSF president Imchatoba Imchen, that the maximum length of service should be 33 years “for fairness.”
The Federation asserted that it is fully convinced in these contentions taking into con considering the prevailing conditions of unemployment in the Naga society. The CM is urged to consider this matter in the interest of the Naga students’ community and the Naga society in general.
