
Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted three days ‘Launching and Workshop of Developing Model Cluster Level Federation (CLF) of Self Help Groups’ in 3 select blocks namely, Jakhama, Longleng and Wokha Block from October 8-10. The Model Federations will be developed over an intensive 18 months process cycle, stated a press release.
In his keynote address, the Chief Operating Officer (Programs), NSRLM, M. Rollan Lotha emphasized the primary objective of the model, which is to create an efficient and effective SHG Women Federations as ‘financial intermediary’ to support its members at primary level community-based institutions like SHGs, and its secondary level Village Level Organizations (VLOs). These model blocks were becoming learning sites for other blocks and districts in the state; a pool of trainers will also emerge within the state mission and also at the community level, the Chief Operating Officer added.
The two day programme covered overview of development of Model Federation process, visioning exercise of the participants, plenary on block-wise planning of activities, and deliverables for the initial 3 months. The model creation was facilitated by Pradyut Bhattacharjee of Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA), an organization supporting SRLMs of NE Region, and assisted by Sivaji Choudhury, National resource person. The entire process will be supervised by the State Program Manager (IBCB/M&E), Imonenla Imkong Phom and Project Manager (MIS), Renvungo Murry.
