NTPRADAO-PJ seeks resignations of Minister, Advisor over Mangkolemba row

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organization (NTPRADAO-PJ) has demanded the resignation of Minister Temjen Imna Along and Advisor S Keoshu Yimchunger over the ongoing controversy surrounding the Mangkolemba Multi-purpose Hall.

In a press release on Saturday, the organisation said it had taken "serious note" of the matter and extended support to the nine-point resolution adopted by Mangkolemba civil society organisations (CSOs) and submitted to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC). The NTPRADAO-PJ demanded the immediate resignation of Along and Yimchunger on what it described as "apparent moral failure" and "mis-use of government machinery with wrongful intention."

It cautioned that it would closely monitor developments and, if it found that appropriate action was not taken by the government, mobilise "hundreds of volunteers for mass protest" until the matter was "resolved logically and officially favouring the demands of Mangkolemba CSOs." The NTPRADAO-PJ also cited the recent NEET examination paper leak controversy, claiming that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign on "moral grounds." It further said Nagaland's youth were anxious for positive change and described the movement as a "Gen-Z political awakening."
