Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organization (NTPRADAO) has reiterated its demand for the immediate suspension of Dimapur Municipal Council nominee member and NDPP youth leader, Enoch S. Wotsa, until the criminal case registered against him is dismissed by the court of law in Dimapur.
In a statement issued on September 5, NTPRADAO said its demand also extends to the suspension of Dr Sukhato Sema, MLA of United People’s (RV).
The organization condemned the “inaction” of DMC Chairman Hukheto Yepthomi and Deputy Chairman Imlinaro Stephanie Ezung, both from the NDPP, stating that they had failed to apprise higher authorities “in the best possible manner on the suspension issue.” It alleged that the two leaders “are least bothered by the sensitive nature of the issue, when the entire Nagas are totally aware of the concern.”
NTPRADAO further criticized the UP (RV) State President, Viloto Pukhato, accusing him of being a “silent spectator when as a political party a high order of public decorum and moral bar has to be maintained.” It recalled that earlier it had appealed to UP (RV) to submit a report to its central leaders in Delhi for necessary action.
The organization pointed out that “for ordinary citizens, if illegal liquor transportation is caught red-handed, they suffer jail for a couple of months, but in the case of Enoch S. Wotsa he seems to be presently roaming around scot-free.”
Stating that it will not back down, NTPRADAO declared that it has vowed to escalate “an action oriented strategy” until Wotsa resigns “gracefully and peacefully to uphold a high standard of public propriety.”
