It is known fact that the reconciliation of different factions of the Naga Militants/Undergrounds is the need of the hour of the people of Nagaland.The United Naga Democratic Socialist Party (UNDSP) a political party in Nagaland was formed on this principal and therefore UNDSP is the happiest of all the political parties in Nagaland and it sincerely thank the participants and signatories of all the insurgent groups.
Love and understanding should be the essence of the people of Nagaland to do anything.
We all know that many agreement, quotes and resolutions have gone waste instead of implementing them for the benefit of all. But the present covenant signed in the name of God the Creator and the Saviour must be put to practice and we should not backslide.
Unlike before, now-a-days we have many qualified professionals such as Engineers, Doctors, Scientists, Lawyers and a new generation of politicians those who have been cautiously observing and waiting for the outcome of the reconciliation pact. If it fails, many organizations both social and political those who congratulated the reconciliation covenant will be put to shame and embarrassment and these groups of people will never forget and trust the signatories.
Therefore, once the agreement is signed it must be put into practice to fulfill both its contents and intents. In order to make it work effectively, I as a senior public leader would like to suggest that a Standing Committee of all the groups representing in the meeting should be formed. They should publicize and propagate to all sections of the people to accept the Covenant of Reconciliation based on “Forgive and Forget the Past”. Even Regional and District level Committees should be formed to reach out to the people and make them understand and accept it in good spirit for the betterment of our people especially for the future generations.
