Tuensang, December 10 (MExN): A total of 489 youth from various sections attended and participated the district level consultation programme for youth on SDGs 2030 held at Baptist Thangyen Higher Secondary School, Tuensang on December 8 last.
It was organised by National Foundation for India (NFI), co-funded by European Union and hosted by Dolen Thangjam Society, Tuensang. Topics related to SDGs 2030 were discussed by different panellists during the event.
The session was embraced first by C Nayung, Architect who gave a presentation on the positive and negative impacts of westernisation in the context of Nagaland. Beso, JSCO, Department of Soil and Water Conservation shared about the role of youth-led civil society in promoting peaceful and strong institutions.
Further, topics related to women empowerment such as stereotyping the role of women in Nagaland and the role of youth in promoting quality education in promoting sustainable learning were discussed by Ason Chang, Programme Assistant, Information, Education & Communication and Nabum Tonbou, Assistant Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical), Works & Housing Department respectively.
Topics related to women empowerment were raised by attendees such as the acceptance of inferiority complex by women in stereotyping the role between men and women in Naga society, which was discussed and enlightened amongst the attendants.
