Over 70 trains cancelled due to damaged tracks

Maligaon, September 5 (MExN): The North East Frontier Railway authority has announced the cancellation of over 70 trains owing to the damaged rail tracks caused by the floods.   It may be mentioned here that the UP line along with bridge no 133 between Sudhani and Telta station was certified fit for train running on August 29 with some restriction.   “Restoration work is still in progress and situation being monitored. Till situation improves further some trains will continue to remain cancelled,” a press release from the NFR stated.   The NFR has already restored four pairs of passenger carrying trains w.e.f. September 2 towards Delhi and Kolkata. These include Rajdhani Express, North East Express, Kamrup Express and Kolkata – Radhikapur Express.   It has also been decided to restore another five pairs of passenger carrying trains shortly which include Guwahati - Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Guwahati Express, Naharlagun – New Delhi – Naharlagun AC Express, Agartala - Anand Vihar Terminus – Agartala Tripura Sundari Express, Dibrugarh – Kaniyakumari – Dibrugarh Vivek Express and Kanchanjungha Express running from Sealdah to Guwahati / Agartala / Silchar. Goods trains are also being run over the affected portion to avoid shortfall of essential commodities in the NE. All North East bound pairing originating trains from other zones against the above mentioned list will also remain cancelled up to September 15 except those trains which have been restored already. Short Termination and Short Origination of trains: (1) 12488 Anand Vihar-Jogbani Seemanchal Exp of 08.09.17, 09.09.17, 10.09.17, 11.09.17, 12.09.17, 13.09.17, 14.09.17 & 15.09.17 will be short terminated at Forbeshganj and 12487 Jogbani - Anand Vihar Seemanchal Exp of 09.09.17, 10.09.17, 11.09.17, 12.09.17, 13.09.17, 14.09.17, 15.09.17 & 16.09.17 will originate from Forbeshganj and will remain partially cancelled between Forbeshganj and Jogbani. (2) 13159 Kolkata-Jogbani Exp of 08.09.17, 11.09.17 & 13.09.17 will be short terminated at Forbeshganj and 13160 Jogbani - Kolkata Exp of 09.09.17, 12.09.17 & 14.09.17 will originate from Forbeshganj and will remain partially cancelled between Forbeshganj and Jogbani. (3) 13248 & 13246 Rajendranagar-Guwahati/New Jalpaiguri Capital Exp will be short terminated at Katihar and 13247/13245 Guwahati/New Jalpaiguri - Rajendranagar Exp will short originate at Katihar and will remain partially cancelled between Katihar and Guwahati/New Jalpaiguri on 08.09.17, 09.09.17, 10.09.17, 11.09.17, 12.09.17, 13.09.17, 14.09.17 & 15.09.17. (4) 55733/55734, 55735/55736, 55739/55740, 55741/55742, 55755/55764 Katihar Jogbani Pass will be short terminated/short originated at Batnaha and will remain partially cancel between Batnaha and Jogbani on 08.09.17, 09.09.17, 10.09.17, 11.09.17, 12.09.17, 13.09.17, 14.09.17 & 15.09.17. (5) 15635 Okha-Guwahati Exp of 08.09.17 & 15.09.17 will be short terminated at Katihar and 15636 Guwahati-Okha Exp of 11.09.17 & 18.09.17 will short originated at Katihar and will remain partially cancel between Katihar and Guwahati. (6) 15667 Gandhidham -Kamakhya Exp of 09.09.17 will be short terminated at Katihar and 15668 Kamakhya- Gandhidham Exp of 13.09.17 will short originated at Katihar and will remain partially cancel between Katihar and Kamakhya.
