Paper bag production unit opens in Phek

Kohima, September 15 (MExN): The Phek Thonga project (Paper bag production unit) was inaugurated by Kovi Meyase, administrator Kohima Municipal Council and CEO Kohima Smart City Development Limited on September 14 at Phek town.
Addressing the gathering, Meyase lauded the people of Phek town for being advance in dealing with plastic menace in the state. He was all praise the community for unity and community participation that brought about positive changes in the society.
It may be recalled that Meyase launched the use of paper bag in Phek when he served as DC Phek in 2017. This paper bag production unit was initiated by Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) under ‘Clean Green Operation.’
Phek Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal said that it is an important day for the people of Phek because this project will determine the future especially in the waste management.
He called upon each and every individual to support project Thonga.
Later, Avelu Ruho, joint CEO Kohima Smart City Development Limited inaugurated a public toilet which was constructed under the scheme of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
PTYS president Neizote Venuh chaired the function while Nuyi Hoshi, convenor Clean Green Operation proposed vote of thanks.
