Career guidance at ICFAI University explores diverse options for students

Having a passion in whatever you do will allow you to overcome any challenges and come to your rescue during your trying times, exhorted Sonam Inoka Khulu to students today adding that “to create something passion is most vital.” The co-founder of Zatara Tea Pvt. Ltd and Gorilla Marketing said this at a career guidance programme organised here by ICFAI University Nagaland Placement Committee at its campus today.
Throwing back on his experiences, Khulu further told the gathering that being confused about a career option is alright. “But you have to be willing to take risk, you learn from experiences,” he added. “Create values with passion and courage, every problem can be solved and success will follow,” Khulu further stressed. He noted that while local products in Nagaland have great potential and values, we lack in packaging our products well.
In his presentation, the director of Youth Net Lezo Putsure also emphasised on the need for passion to build one's career. “It is okay to take risk and fail, we learn from it, he added. Create values and look for solution. Don't judge, what matters is how much you interest people on the other side,” Putsure further advised adding that entrepreneurship is about problem solving and searching for solution. The best question to ask while crossing a Career is whether it makes you happy or you are passionate about it, he maintained.
Also speaking on the occasion, Yangvou Kikon IT Consultant and pioneering social media entrepreneur advised the students not to just follow the crowd while choosing a career. “While choosing a career, the journey and experience are vital,” he maintained recalling his presentation with his own experiences. “Chose wisely. It is your choice. The first step is to discover yourself,” Kikon further noted adding that the next steps are to - exploring options and making an informed decision based on that make use of technology which are readily available, he added. Do not procrastinate, take action based on your research and evaluate whether it's realistic, Kikon stressed. “Work hard today and reap the success tomorrow.”
The presentations were followed by active interactive session where the resource person answered the queries from the students. Earlier, the programme started with a welcome address by Pro-Vice Chancellor of IUN and vote of thanks by Yeangao Konyak, Deputy Manager (Admission and Placement). The programme was chaired by Rensenmenla Longchar, HOD of History department.
