Team Asgardians, the overall champions of the Patkai Christian College’s (A) 47th annual sports meet which concluded on November 12.
Patkai, November 13 (MExN): Patkai Christian College’s (A) 47th annual sports meet under the theme ‘onward to new beginnings’ concluded on November 12. The six-day event, which had commenced on November 7, included various outdoor and indoor games.
The PCC in a press release stated that Team Asgardians emerged as overall champions while team Dark Elves got the ‘Best Discipline Team’ and also emerged as the runner-up. Midgardians came third while Frost Giants, Eternals and Valhalla followed respectively. Eneibe Thopi of Asgardian was announced the Best Player (Football).
Vice Principal, PCC, Angel Sonari in her message congratulated all the winners for winning, players for participating and the crowd for cheering. She expressed hope that the same energy continues next year.
Dean of Students, Wetshete Thopi said it was exhilarating to witness the positive youthful energy being displayed both on and off the field. He urged the students to make a fine balance between work and play, stress and leisure, boredom and fun.
Megoseito Vüprü, Captain of Asgardians sharing his experience said, “I am overwhelmed by the victory. All glory and honour to God; it is all because of Him that we came out victorious.” Dr Walosangla was the mentor of Asgardians.
On being awarded as the Best Discipline Team, Diikho Shipfo, Captain of Dark Elves said that ‘discipline is an integral part in sports and in every individual.’ Dr Dakter Esse, mentor of Dark Elves was also declared the ‘Best Mentor.’ On the final day, Football (men), Basketball (men and women), Volleyball (men and women) and Tug-of-war (men and women) were played.
