
Kohima, September 8 (MExN): First People's Forum for Peace (PFP) meeting programme was held at Panchayat Hall, Jakhama Village on September 7.
Alino S Chishi, peace animator facilitated the meeting and Vitono Gugu Haralu, Peace Channel Coordinator highlighted how members of the forum can work individually and collectively to promote peace and harmony in the community.
A press release from the forum stated that PFP is a forum for analyzing conflict situation at people’s level and exploring new strategies for building peace at individual, group and community levels. PFP is also an opportunity for developing one’s potentials for responsible, transparent, honest and diligent leaders in creating sustainable peace at people’s hand.
Members present in the meeting shared their concerns and perspectives for peace and conflict at community level. The discussions led to a common understanding on peace as harmony with oneself and with others while conflict as disagreements, differences in opinions and perceptions. The members of the forum approved to meet regularly before sharing a mass prayer.
