Peren district's health workers sensitized on IPPI

Peren, January 15 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office, Peren held a district review meeting on January 10 at its conference hall here. The meeting was attended by District Programme Officers, Medical Officers, nurses, pharmacist, District and Block Program Management Unit Staff, NHM.  

The District Media Officer in a press release said that Dr. Khrielasanuo, DPO RCH/UIP highlighted about the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI), which is to be held on January 29. She gave instructions on how and what to be done during the IPPI. Highlighting the importance of hand marking, she said the left small fingers of the child should be marked. She also explained about the importance of Vaccine Vial Monitor and the Open Vial Policy.  

Further, Dr. Khrielasanuo spoke on how to fill up the reporting formats and informed on the basic immunization schedule. She requested all the health workers to bring back the unused vaccines to the nearby ILR centers. She also requested the Medical Officers to monitor and supervise during the IPPI in their respective health units sincerely. Meanwhile, the CMO, Dr. Ngangshimeren informed all staff that no leave will be granted starting from January 3 as per the directives from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Peren for the coming town council election except for those on medical grounds. He highlighted the information from the Directorate that names of those residing medical officers or any other category of staff in the Government quarters along with their allotment numbers are to be submitted to the directorate. He further stated that no proxy or adjustments should be entertained and explained the main purpose of providing two ANMs in the sub centers. He requested all staffs to be sincere and coordinate for the success of the upcoming IPPI.  

Dr. Tiala, Deputy CMO highlighted about iodine salt testing report which is done by the ASHAs in the villages. She requested the ASHA coordinators to collect the reports from the ASHAs and submit to the Directorate. The reports have to be submitted every month, she stated. Pointing out that there are some health units where staffs are not attending the monthly review meeting on a repeated basis, she asserted that the monthly review meeting should be taken seriously as during the meeting not only information is given but so also trainings and other important discussions are held.  

The next review meeting is scheduled on February 7.
