Persons who entered Nagaland after March 6 asked to self declare

Dimapur, March 21, (MExN): The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare has notified all persons who have entered Nagaland after March 6, irrespective of being screened at various check points, to self declare and report to the designated helpline numbers. It also said that such persons shall be subjected to compulsory Home Quarantine.


Those who are put in Home Quarantine and family members or persons in contact with such persons conforming to the case definition of ‘contact’ (See Box) have been directed to strictly follow the guidelines for Home Quarantine issued by the Government and  to extend full cooperation to health personnel and authorities.


Further, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Nagaland Epidemic Disease (COVID-19) Regulations, 2020 under the Epidemic Disease Act 1897, Dr Vizolie Suokhrie, Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, issued the following directives.


The notification stated that samples for COVID-19 test from suspected persons shall be collected only at the designated sample collection sites and all suspected persons conforming to case definition issued by the government shall be transported to designated sample collection sites only by designated ambulances. The person(s) shall be kept in Mandatory Designated Quarantine places till such time the test results are available, it stated.


It also said that only authorized vehicles shall be permitted to cross the Quarantine Security Gate and unauthorized persons shall not be permitted to cross the Quarantine Security Gate.


Any act of non-compliance shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable as per the provisions of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897, the order stated.
