Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan observed across Nagaland

Month long celebration of Poshan Maah was launched at Longchem block on September 7 at a formal function held at community Hall Longchem. Speaking at the function, Bendangnaro, CDPO Longchem block stated that Poshan Maah scheme aims at achieving improvement in nutritional status of children up to six years of age, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers. Athrong, EAC Longchem administered the Poshan pledge. To commemorate the day, Poshan rally was also held at Longchem.
Dimapur, September 12 (MExN): A seminar on Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan organised by department of Social Welfare, Dimapur District in convergence with Health & Family Welfare and PHED was held at AWTC, Complex, Diphupar, Dimapur on September 12. According to a DIPR report, Medical Officer, Dr. Michelle, Sanitation & Hygiene Consultant, PHED; Imojungla Longkumer and District Coordinator, Poshan Abhiyaan, Limasenla Walling were the resource persons. The programme was chaired by DPO Dimapur, Hutoi Sema. The seminar was attended by trainees of Anganwadi workers and officials from line departments.
Medziphema: As part of the Poshan Abhiyan the Block Convergence Plan for Committee (BCPC) in collaboration with Medziphema District Administration organised a programme for adolescents and Essay writing and Quiz competition for school girls at town hall, Medziphema on September 12.
CDPO Tsungrosongla in her key note address gave an over view and main aims of Rashtriya Poshan Maah. Dr. Moakhala Changkiri Scientist SASRD (NU) was the guest speaker.
Quiz competition on health nutrition was conducted by EAC Sentilong Ozukum. Altogether, five schools participated in the quiz and essay competition where SFS bagged the 1st- position in quiz competition whereas the essay competition was won by SFS School. Winners & participants were awarded with prize money and certificates.
Suruhoto: District Health Society, Zunheboto in collaboration with Suruhoto ICDS project observed Poshan Maah at VDB Hall, Suruhoto on September 10.
Shekho Sophie, District Media Officer, CMO office Zunheboto in a press release stated that Dr Kuzonyi Vadeo, SDO (C), Suruhoto and Dr Renchamo Humtsoe, MO I/c Suruhoto PHC spoke at the programme. Poshan pledge was taken by all the participants present. Hovishe Sema, CDPO, Suruhoto chaired the programme. Invocation was pronounced by Titoli, Sunday School Pastor and vote of thanks was delivered by A Limawati Jamie, Sr Supervisor. The programme was attended by SDO, MO, BPM, stake holders, ASHAs and AWWs.
Tamlu: Tamlu block level nutrition rally marking Rashtriya Poshan was flagged off by ADC & Chairman BCAP Tamlu Block, Y Chingyak Konyak at the office premise of ADC Office Tamlu on September 11. He also administered Poshan pledge to the officials of all convergence departments and school children present at the rally.
As per DIPR report, keynote address was delivered by Longleng CDPO & Member Secretary, BCAB, Tamlu. Dr Baungan, MO Tamlu spoke on the health issues of adolescents girls and stressed that the age in the adolescent period is marked with tremendous changes in the body.
Students of Christian English School, Angawadi workers and helpers, medical staff and RD staff participated in the programme.
