Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): The Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN) has “clarified” that the Council “has nothing to do with the establishment of contentious Lamhainamdi village which lies in the disputed border of Peren and Dimapur districts.”
The RCN in a press release issued by its media cell stated that certain media reports have recently implicated the name of the Council “arbitrarily without proper authentication and knowledge” of the Council which is “very unfortunate.”
It asserted that the Council in its last meeting held at Jalukie on November 7, 2018 thoroughly deliberated on Lamhainamdi village issue and finally concluded that “it was a border land dispute only between Lamhai and Khehoi villages and that RCN is not involved.”
“The State government has promptly intervened into the matter and RCN believe that the competent authority would be able to resolve the issue amicably and bring about peace and harmony for co-existence,” it said.
It held that the RCN has made its “stand clear” and further cautioned that “if any individual or organization drags the name of RCN in media, the Council shall not be held responsible in any way.”
The RCN also appealed to the media houses to “authenticate any report/press statement associating the Council before it goes for publication.”
