Prof GT Thong & others at the inaugural programme of ICSSR-sponsored 10-Day Research Methodology Course for Research Scholars on February 10.

Zunheboto, February 12 (MExN): An ICSSR-sponsored 10-Day Research Methodology Course for Research Scholars was inaugurated at Department of Teacher Education, Nagaland University on February 10.
The inaugural programme was graced by Prof Ramesh C Patel, Vice Chancellor of Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE), Gujarat as guest of honour, and Prof GT Thong, Pro Vice Chancellor, Kohima campus as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Prof GN Tiwari, HoD, and Prof PK Pattnaik, Course Director, stated a press release issued by Peter Ki, PRO, Nagaland University.
In his address, Prof Ramesh C Patel urged the participants to give special emphasis to basic understanding of research knowledge and practices in research like sampling frame, research question, research objectives, etc. He emphasised on intellectual honesty in research as it is the need of the hour in this era of artificial intelligence.
Prof GT Thong elaborated on the importance of scientific process of research in educational research. Earlier, Prof Gyanendra Nath Tiwari, Head of the Department, in his welcome address, highlighted the significance of research methodology in academic and professional growth.
Prof Tiwari emphasised the role of rigorous research practices in contributing to educational reforms and policy development, particularly in the context of teacher education.
The background note of the Research Methodology Course was delivered by Prof PK Pattnaik, Course Director.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Sushil Kumar Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Teacher Education, Nagaland University. The session chaired by Dr Seema R Thappa was attended by 200 participants.
