Rio grateful to Banerjee for rail link

Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is grateful to Union Minister for Railways Mamata Banerjee for including railway projects for Nagaland in the Railway Budget 2011-2012. The chief minister addressed a message to the Union Minister today, a copy of which was received here.
“I take this opportunity to express the appreciation of the state government to you and your ministry for your commitment to introduce new projects for Nagaland especially a new train in the form of Dimapur-Guwahati Express and also for inclusion of DImapur-Tizit railway line,” the CM stated to Banerjee. Nonetheless, the chief minister requested the Railway Minister that Dimapur-Guwahati express “can originate from Dimapur in the morning” and ‘make the return of the express in the evening’.
Neiphiu Rio congratulated Banerjee for the railway budget, which he said, is a “national budget which has included development and connectivity projects for all regions of the country.”  “It is a landmark railway budget since far flung regions like the state of the north eastern region and even Jammu & Kashmir have been included for major development projects.
This is the type of approach that is required on the part of the government of India for equitable and inclusive growth throughout the length and breadth of India and will pave the way for realistic nation-building,” Rio said.
