Rs 4,435 crs sanctioned for NF railway electrification 

Maligaon, September 17 (MExN): The centre has sanctioned a total amount of Rs 4,435 crore for electrification at various railway tracks under North East Frontier Railway.   “At present Indian Railway has about 13675 kms of un-electrified BG railway tracks. Out of which 2536 kms falls under NF Railway,” a press release from Chief PRO, P J Sharma informed.   He also staed that the only electrified portion of NF Railway, presently  is between Katihar and Malda Court stations via Kumedpur (101 kms).   Electrification work have been distributed amongst two agencies, Centre for Railway Electrification (CORE) and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).
