Peren, September 14 (MExN): A one day sensitization programme on Child Rights and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act 2015 was organized by District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Peren at Perenkipeuzang on September 14.
A press release by DCPU Peren stated that the programme aimed to enlighten the unreached rural community about child rights and child protection.
In a keynote address DCPO, Peren, Avika Zhimomi highlighted the structure of the Integrated Child Protection Services (ICPS). He asserted that for a peaceful society every individual in the society should be responsible to protect the rights of children. Resources person, legal cum probation officer, Peren, Asungbe, Spoke on the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ ACT) and POCSO Act 2015. And PO (NIC) Vihoto Kinny spoke on the role and functions of the village level child protection committee (VLCPC).
The programme was chaired by Imliwapang Jamir, Asst. cum Data Entry Operator (CWC), invocation was said by and vote of thanks was delivered by Paulie, Social worker DCPU, Peren.
