Tuensang, June 15 (MExN): The Smart Classroom at Sao Chang College, Tuensang was inaugurated on June 15 by the Deputy Commissioner Tuensang Mohammed Ali Shihab. The Smart Classroom construction was funded by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India (GoI). It was constructed under the initiative of RUSA and IQAC committee of the college.
A press note issued by M. Shiu, Convener, Media Cell, Sao Chang College, Tuensang stated that the DC in his inaugural short speech remarked it was a historic day for the college to have achieved the long felt need to have such smart classroom. The world has become smart these days unlike those earlier times. He said that, the technological advancement and its applications are to be utilized in the educational institutions for the realization of optimal learning.
The DC expressed appreciation to the teaching faculty for active role in the college for its development and further urged to work hard with dedication so as to help students develop personality, build confidence and empowered them for face the challenges in life in the future through education. He said, “Nagas have a unique traditional value and to develop various such values, relevant co-curricular and vocational courses should also need to be introduced for the welfare of the student community.”
The programme was chaired by Dr. LJ Neken Jamir, Assistant Professor & Convener, IQAC. Welcome addressed was delivered by Dr. A. Nshoga, Principal and brief report of Smart Classroom Construction and Interactive White Board functioning demonstration was given by Tekameren Walling, Assistant Professor. Vote of thanks was proposed by Akyuba Sangtam, Assistant Professor. The inauguration programme was attended by many officers of the district, Tuensang Village ‘C’ Khel Council, teaching and non-teaching staff and Sao Chang College Students Council office bearers. After the inaugural programme, the College Advisory Board meeting was held in the smart classroom where various developmental issues for the college were deliberated.
