Shanen FC and SP XI registered emphatic wins on a rain-soaked Day 5 of the 33rd Loyem Memorial Trophy (LMT) at the Loyem Memorial Astro Turf, Tuensang, on Saturday.

In the first match, Shanen FC defeated Legit FC 12-0 in a one-sided encounter. Team captain Ayenmongba scored seven goals, while Nisede Peseyie netted twice. Longkhoi, Naset Chuba and Thangpong added a goal each.

With the win, Shanen FC remain unbeaten with two wins from as many matches. Legit FC, meanwhile, suffered their second consecutive defeat. Ayenmongba now leads the top-scorers’ chart jointly with nine goals in the tournament so far.

In the second match, SP XI beat United Comets FC 7-0. Limakumzuk Ao found the net six times, while Bichemli added one goal. SP XI also secured their second straight win, while United Comets FC have one win and one loss from their two matches. Limakumzuk’s goal tally also stands at nine, placing him alongside Ayenmongba as joint top scorer.

Matches will resume on November 3, with Auyang FC facing Khiamniungan Sports Council at 12:30 p.m., followed by Tüjünu United FC taking on GHSS Hakushang XI at 2:30 p.m.
