The Kewhimia U-15 Kene (wrestling) Championship was held on Saturday at Pele Khezhie Indoor Stadium in Kohima Village, organised by Bout Lords and supported by the Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO).
The inaugural programme was chaired by Khriesazo Liezietsu, Tournament Management Director, Bout Lords. KVYO president Er Medozhazo Rutsa delivered the welcome address, and Kevidzenyü Rutsa, Assistant Professor, Shalom Bible Seminary, offered the invocation. A special performance was presented by Rüdielhounuo Sekhose and Pfulikhrie Keretsü. The oath for wrestlers was administered by the KVYO Kene secretary.
Kevisetuo Kire emerged champion, while Meguolhou Sote secured second place, followed by Keneiphretuo Kire in third and Menguvor Khezhie in fourth. Winners received cash awards and trophies sponsored by KVYO vice-president Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome.
The closing programme was chaired by KVYO Games & Sports Secretary Viliebeizo Liezietsu. Wrestlers selected for the NASA Wrestling Meet 2026 (Group-A) were also announced. Kezhalelie Keretsü, Managing Director, Bout Lords, delivered the vote of thanks.
Kohima Municipal Council councillors Vimhalie Pienyü and Kelhousenuo Khruomo, ASA Vice-President (Administration) Neisavotuo Whuorie and former KVC chairman Medoselhou Keretsü distributed awards. All quarterfinalists and participants received cash incentives. Additionally, Khruomo awarded an extra Rs 5,000 to the champion.
