Career guidance seminar held

The Career Guidance and Students Support Cell of Sao Chang Government College, Tuensang conducted one day career guidance seminar for the BA and B.SC 6th Semester students with Sungmo Chang, Administrator of Eklavya Model Residential School, Tuensang as the resource person.  

M. Shiu, Media Cell, SCGC, Tuensang in a press release stated that the resource person enlightened on the various avenues available in the state and also outside the state. She encouraged the students to acquire various skills to compete in this civilized modern society. She said that we must possessed good communication skills, teamwork spirit, problem solving skills, initiative and enterprise skills, planning and organizing, etc to get to face employment opportunities.  

Choosing right career at the right time will make life contented, so students should click to the career in which he or she can excel. “We have to know our own skills and lookout for the right employment opportunities. Unless we keep learning ourselves every day, we will not be able to compete with others. So, students should inculcate and continue the habit of learning even after their graduation from the college,” she added.  

6th sem students bid farewell

The Sao Chang Government College, Tuensang held its parting social for 6th semester students on March 21 at the college auditorium with L.L. Lemtur, Additional Superintendent of Police, Tuensang as the guest speaker. The Additional SP congratulated the graduating students for completing their studies, “as it is a moment of life filled with joy and with privilege to start another new journey.”  

He encouraged the student saying that graduating from the college is not the end of one’s learning in life, but should have higher goals beyond, to bring success by exploring oneself to the outside world.  

He also said, “We should learn to get connected with people of different parts of the world to have broader outlook which will bring inspirations to compete in all areas of modern society. When we venture to achieve something in life, we may face obstacles and failures as it is part and parcel in life, but we should never give up until we achieve our aims in life. Whenever we faced failures in our activities, the mistakes should be identify and built new strategies with unwavering mind so that we can comfortably face the world of fair completion to become successful individuals.”  

NSS Unit organises special camp

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Sao Chang Government College, Tuensang organized a three days special camp from March 23 to 25 at its adopted Keshai Village under Tuensang District. The NSS volunteers on reaching the village conducted social work followed by interaction with the village elders and apprised them the purpose of their visit to the villagers.  

On the second day, the volunteers organized another social work at the village cemetery. For the Primary students of the village, they also organized a drawing competition and prizes were also distributed to the winners. Neat and cleanliness life habits were also taught to the children. The NSS volunteers also visited the houses of aged, infirm and widows and extended their service by doing household chores. At the strategic points at the village, the volunteers installed LED light bulbs. On the third day, the visiting volunteers attended the Palm Sunday service at the church and took part in the programme with a special number.  

The NSS special camp was organized under the initiative of NSS Unit programme officer Nungsangtola along with three other faculty members. Altogether, 28 NSS student volunteers took part in the camp.
