Schools and unions celebrate Teacher’s Day

Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): MGM Hr Sec School celebrated Teacher’s Day at school campus with students performing various presentations. School Captain Chingmei delivered welcome speech. The principal addressed the gathering. Teachers were presented with gifts from students and St. Thomas Mission Society.  

Students of Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur celebrated Teachers’ Day at Covenant Hall, by honouring their teachers with a display of talents, reliving the past with classic melodies, slide show of teachers’ candid moments, violin recital, beat box and dances. Dr. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur graced the day as chief guest.  

KDSU organized Teachers' Day at Kasha DAHO conference hall. Altogether, seven primary school and Government High School kasha, participate in the function. Speaking at the function, Kenny Semp, senior lecturer, DIET urged the teachers serving in rural areas to do a self research as to why there are fewer enrollments in the primary school. President Kasha DAHO, Jwenbu Tep also spoke during the function. Pfukrelo Cheng was awarded the best teacher of the year. The students present songs, cultural show in honor of their teachers.  

Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) Kohima celebrated Teachers’ Day at the college Auditorium. Newkai of 3rd Semester briefed about the significance of the day. The student-teachers enthralled the audience through their various performances. Pelee Hekha, Managing Director, MITE, exhorted about the importance of skill-based education and its significance with changing times. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Watikokba Longkumer, Vice President MITESUB.  

Students of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Dimapur observed Teachers’ Day in three different shifts. Monoj Bhattacharjee, Principal and Lakshman Chandra Das, Headmaster, graced the occasion where lively and colourful cultural programme was organized by the students. The whole programme was graced with the presence and blessings of Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of the institution.  

Sangto Christian School, Chessore celebrated Teacher’s Day at Chessore Village Baptist Church where Lakiumong, Chairmen School Managing Board and K. Keyoungkhum, Head Master spoke on the importance and significance of teachers. Students presented speech, song and other items in honour of the teachers.  

St. Stephen’s School, Rusoma celebrated Teacher’s Day in Rusoma’s Stadium. The function started with invocation by St. Stephen Church care taker, Neiphrenuo, students of class-VI & VII presented special song, Teacher’s Day greetings by Neithovinuo, Teacher’s Tribute by Students of Class-V & B, and speech by Headmaster Zachariah. It concluded by singing “I will obey my teacher” and slogan shouting by the students “Long live Teachers, no Teacher no progress”.  

Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) celebrated Teachers’ Day at SCHE auditorium. Principal of Salesian College of Higher Education, Fr. Dr. Policarp Xalxo and Rector of SCHE, Fr. Tom Karthik addressed the gathering. Vitsino Haikam, Asst. Prof. of SCHE spoke on behalf of the faculty. The programme also witnessed other colourful events: songs, video presentation, dances, teachers’ day address, skit, comedy, vote of thanks, friendly Basketball match between the staff and the students. The day ended with a sumptuous lunch for the teachers.  

Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, celebrated the Teachers’ Day 2017 with much pomp and gaiety in the College Auditorium. Principal of the College, Rev. Fr. Dr. T. C. Joseph SDB underscored the crucial and significant role of the teachers in the society and reminded all the staff and the teacher trainees to love their profession with passion, dedication, and integrity as the teaching profession is one of the most noble and responsible professions. The teacher trainees showcased their talents on the stage with a variety of programmes and the faculty members, along with the supporting staff, were presented with gifts and tokens of love. The programme came to a close with a sumptuous meal for all.
