Kohima, December 11 (MExN): The Sechüma Youth Organisation (SYO) organized a thanksgiving service to commemorate its 50th anniversary at Sechüma Village Council Hall.
Rüüngutuo Sechü, Finance Secretary, Naga Hoho, the main speaker of the day, said, “In attaining this milestone, it is time to retrospect the journey that we have travelled. Nevertheless, let us be reminded of our responsibility that lies ahead, and continue to march with greater zeal and spirit in responding to the challenges of our times.”
“The progress of a society will depend much on how we respond during our times. Therefore, let us take decisions wisely in order to contribute positively for the well being of our people at large.” He reminded the youth members to observe the jubilee as a time of true thanksgiving to the almighty, and also a time to forgive and forget if there had been any misunderstanding or personal differences amongst the people and villagers.
“Let this also be a time to remember the sacrifices and contributions of our pioneers who have taken great pain and effort in guiding the youth body till this day,” he said, reminding the youths to carry on the legacy set by the past leaders.
Earlier, the Naga Hoho leader unveiled the SYO 50th anniversary monolith.
