Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): The IT Department of ICFAI University conducted a one day workshop on ‘Mobile Securities and Android Apps Development’ on October 6 at the University campus. The resource person Kamal Hussian spoke about common misperceptions among mobile users and the different ways of ensuring mobile security. The common misperceptions about mobile security are “EMM/MDM can protect mobile phone, secure container can protect mobile, mobile phone security is not any priority, mobile phone are immune against threat and AV can protect mobile phone.”
There are few things one needs to remember to ensure mobile security such as “buying smartphones from vendors who release security patches quickly, locking your phone with pin rather than pattern lock, use apps only from Google Play Store, use anti-virus software, turn off data connections when you don’t need it, and stop disclosing your location.”
A press release from the University informed that ICFAI University also officially launched “a Digital Information System with voice enabled control and the QR (Quick Response) code developed by their BCA student.”
The workshop was attended by students of Nagaland University, St. Joseph University; students and teachers of Hollotoli School and Delhi Public School Dimapur along with faculties and students of ICFAI University Nagaland.
