Self-Defense Training of Govt school master trainers concluded

The Self-Defense Training for 214 Government school Master trainers concluded today at Pele Khezhie’s Taekwondo Stadium, D Khel Kohima.

The training was conducted by Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) and funded by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland under Gender and Equity to train the girls studying in government schools on self-defense.

Addressing the valedictory programme, Temsunaro Aier, State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha lauded the NTA headed by Pele Khezhie for the commendable job to train the Government School Master Trainers to train the girls studying in government schools in Nagaland.

Aier congratulated  the teacher Master trainers and reminded them that NEP 2020 envisage to provide holistic, inclusive, and equitable quality education where  self- defense programme for girls instil self confidence, self-esteem and basic skill to defend themselves to from gender related crimes.

Aier said that Gender and Equity is an important focus of the Ministry of Education , Government of India.

She encouraged the teachers to go back to schools and give their best to impart training they have learned to girls in the schools.

Aier also reminded the teachers that gender related crimes happen in society. However, most incidence failed to get reported and said that every effort must be made to eradicate  such crimes in society by creating awareness.

The State Mission Director was accompanied by Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director,. Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director and Imchanok Jamir, Coordinator.

During the valedictory programme, students from Govt High School Meriema, who recently participated in the National Level Taekwondo Competition, demonstrated taekwondo skills.
