Sensitization camp on DDUGKY held across Wokha

WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 2 (MExN): The District Level Sensitization Program for the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) was conducted at Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, on August 29, and at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Bhandari, on September 2.

Organized by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) in collaboration with the Skill Development Committees of Mount Tiyi College and GHSS Bhandari, the program aimed to raise awareness about the DDUGKY initiative.

Rachano Murry, AC-Skills from NSRLM RD Block Sanis, delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation on DDUGKY. She emphasized that DDUGKY is a placement-linked, free training program under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, specifically designed for rural youth aged 18-35.

Murry highlighted the program's potential to address the high unemployment rate in the state, noting that it equips participants with skills to secure better job opportunities and achieve a stable livelihood. She cited the success stories of many beneficiaries who have been placed in reputed companies both nationally and internationally, and assured that all placed candidates are monitored for a year to ensure their benefit and safety.

At Mount Tiyi College, the session was chaired by Oliv L Ayemi, Assistant Professor and member of the Skills Development Committee. The vote of thanks was delivered by Chumbenthung E Yanthan, AC-Skills from NSRLM RD Block Wokha.
