SKK supports age relaxation for NPSC exams

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 17 (MExN): The All Sumi Students' Union (SKK) has expressed its support for the Concerned Aspirants group, who are advocating for age relaxation in competitive exams conducted by the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).

This call for adjustment comes in response to the unprecedented challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The SKK has highlighted that the pandemic has severely disrupted the preparation timeline for many aspirants, making the current age limit a significant barrier.

They argued that without this relaxation, numerous candidates will be unfairly denied the opportunity to compete and secure their futures.

The union underscored the broader issue of youth unemployment in Nagaland, asserting that maintaining the current age restrictions will only exacerbate this problem. By failing to adapt to the pandemic’s impacts, the state risks perpetuating a cycle of joblessness and disenchantment among its young population, it stated.

In light of actions taken by various state governments across India to grant age relaxation due to the pandemic, the SKK is urging the Government of Nagaland to adopt a similar compassionate stance. The SKK said that it remains committed to advocating for the rights of the Concerned Aspirants group and is calling for prompt and decisive action from the state government to address this pressing issue.
