Both America and Russia are Christian Nations: America, dominantly Protestants and Russia dominantly Eastern Orthodox Headed by a Patriarch. The Eastern Orthodox does not accept the Pope but follow certain Rituals like the Catholics.
The Standards of Spiritual ETHOS of America, is different from the standard of Spiritual Ethos of Russia: the Moral Ethos of America originated from the Theology of the Bible alone whereas the Russian Spiritual Characteristics rose not only from the Theology of the Bible alone but also from traditional Rituals. The small differences in Spiritual Ethics and Traditional Rituals is all the great differences in the National Moral Standards in the two great Christian Nations.
It was the Christian Ethos in Abraham Lincoln that made him reject Slavery in America. His Christian Ethos was so strong he was prepared to go to War even with his OWN countrymen on the Issue. It was Christian Ethos in people like Wilberforce that refused to accept the profitable Slave Trade in England and people like Grant with Christian Ethos would not tolerate the corrupt Rule of the East India Company in India. Quite a few Members of Parliament in H.M.S Government in England were Board Members of the lucrative East India Company but ultimately the Evangelical Ethos prevailed.
Soulless Buddhism in Cambodia could not stop Genocide of Buddhists in Cambodia under Pol Pot. Buddhism does not believe in ‘God Created Man and Woman’ and does not have a moral ethos on Human Rights. Buddhism does not value Life as a permanent Being in the Image of God. To Buddhism, Life is Sorrow, Temporary and not Real. In Christianity; Life is Wonderfully and fearfully made in the Image of God and continue beyond Death. Ethos of Buddhism and of Christianity differs.
The Communist Philosophy in China of taking the Citizens as the property of the STATE would not accept Individual Human Rights. The UN Human Rights originated form the Christian Ethos of the uniqueness of an Individual –even the numbers of your hair is counted; your Life is more than the cost of 2 Sparrows, God considers Man almost like the Angels in Heaven. A Nation’s Human Right principle arises from the Respect of the Right of an Individual Citizen. And unless the People accepts the Spiritual Principle that: ‘God Created Man and Woman in his Own Image’- China would continue to suffer in its Record of Respect for Human Rights and ultimately it will reflect on the wellbeing of the Nation.
Islam’s treatment of Woman, exemplified in the Firing Squad of the Talibans against Woman Education, is a clear indication of the level of Spiritual Ethos of the Muslims; it indicates Islam’s the lack of inhibition of one Muslim Sect killing Members of other Muslims Sects in Muslim Nations. No wonder, disrespect for Human Rights in the ‘Infidels’ creates no problem in Islam.
Hinduism does not allow Woman to study the Sacred Law of the Hindus and the Wife is supposed to jump into the Funeral Pyre of her dead Husband. The Baptist Nagas killing Baptist Nagas among Nagas; is an indication of the low Standard of Christian Ethos in our land. It indicates: ‘Without God, Man cannot see TRUTH’.

In India, the BJP believes the Aryan Hindu Culture alone can make India turn into a great Bharat Nation and believed the introduction of Astrology as a Science in the University is necessary for the development of the Hindu Heritage. It mobilized the Army into Exercises in the Thar Desert to prepare Nuclear War with Pakistan. It believes what BJP deems Right is the only Right. No wonder, the BJP deemed it was not wrong for a Brahmin Nathuram Godse killing Mohondas Gandhi who they viewed a lower Caste arrogating the prominence deserved only for the Brahmins only.
The Viswa Hindu Parisha, believed Graham Stains the Australian Missionary, rejecting his affluence West and serving the Hinduism’s rejected Lepers in India’s jungle Village, with his two sons in Odisha, was out to change the Hindu Culture of India and felt it is alright to burn him and his two Sons too because they were supposedly being trained for the same Vision of their Father!
The BJP made ‘Freedom of Religion’ into a Law to deny Freedom of Religion to the Christians but encouraged convertion to the Hinduism as a Return to the native Culture! The Hindu Worldview and the Christian Worldviews differ and thus the Christian Ethos and the Hindu Ethos differ.

The Indian Constitution prohibits discriminations on the basis of Caste; yet today, 60 years after the final approval of the CONSTITUTION of India in the Constituent Assembly, it is unimaginable for an Untouchable to eat with a Brahmin in the same Table or even sit side by side.

The Caste System and its narrow moral Ethos is like the Earth’s gravitational pull that would not allow a Satellite to escape out of its gravitational Field and the Satellite goes round and round the Earth till ultimately it is pulled to the earth and crash into pieces.
Godless modern Rationalists in the West today allow killing of millions of ‘unborn’ Human Beings in the womb. The humanist rational Morality originate from Man and Man’s Logic, not from God, because they do not believe in God. The Rationalists have removed: “In God We Trust” from the American Dollar Bills, the Ten Commandments from the Court Yard and Morning Prayers from the children’s Class Room in America. The incumbent Baptist President Obama today seeking Re-Election and Mormon Republican Candidate Mitt Romney, accepts Gay Marriage and Abortion. It will be interesting to observe the direction the moral Ethos of America is going.
If a Person does not Believe in God, that Person would not know what is Right from what is Wrong; the Judge in the Court cannot believe whether a man is telling the Truth or not. That is why the Judge makes him swear he/she would tell the Truth only. If the person is a Atheist he can tell lies in his own Interest without any morality or conscience. It is belief in God that makes a man cleave to Truth. The spiritual principles –Ethos- affects the life of an individual, in turn it affects the community and the Community finally affects the State.
Christians develop Christian Standard of Morality, Muslims develops Islamic Morality and Hindus Hindu Morality.
The Belief Systems of a Community affects the Spiritual Ethos of its People and is reflected in how it treats:
i. Equality between Man and Man,
ii. Freedom of Conscience,
iii. Democracy,
iv. Human Rights
v. Attitude towards Technology,
And, Ultimately, the Spiritual Ethos of the Community decides the Wellbeing and Prosperity of the State.
It is said China was ahead of the West in many discoveries of mankind just 500 years ago: They discovered Gun Powder and the principles of Rocketry long before the West. They developed Paper making in 1, AD which took 600 years to reach England, discovered Lodestones/Magnet that points North-South direction if suspended on a String but Chinese Ships only hugged the Coastlines and never ventured into the deep Unknown Oceans: The Chinese Worshipped their Ancestors, their Rulers and the Unknown Divine.
India discovered the Mathematical Naught or the Zero (0), the Game of Chess but suffer from Moral Narrowness of its Caste System.
Alexander the Great is said to have found out the Indian Army, arrayed in intimidating phalanxes on the battle field in the Punjab Plain, Cooked their Food in different places because they would not eat together due to Caste System. The great General thus devised his battle Plan accordingly and today every Middle School Student knows who conquered who some than 2330 years ago. It was Hindu Kings who invited foreign Muslim Invaders and Persian Kings to invade India.
The Caste System -Hindu Way of Life- has no Equality, it divides Men into High and Low Castes and does not grant Freedom of Conscience to the Lowest Caste. Hinduism takes the Lowest Caste as Untouchables and Impure, a high Caste Brahmin touching a Sweeper gets his Soul polluted needing cleansing by taking bath in the Ganga water, one of the most polluted river in the World. The Caste System dehumanizes fellowmen and believes Planets and Stars decides the destiny of a Person: Such a Moral Standard retards People from gaining a better and higher prosperous Future.
One of the greatest ill-Influence the Caste System plays in modern India is on the Quality of the MPs in the Parliament: It is reported, 150 MPs elected have criminal cases against them, with 73 serious, very serious cases ranging from rape to murder.
No wonder Corruption is one of the greatest evils of India and the root of the problem comes from the low Spiritual Ethos of the People generated by Caste Belief System in the Country. The President of America was impeached because he told a Lie. In India a corrupt MPs help each other in Corruption. A corrupt crorepati MP of One Party helps another corrupt crorepati MP of another Party, or even the Opposition Party MP for mutual benefit in the Loot of the common poor People!
Today, out of 543 MPs in Lok Sabha, 315 are crorepatis. That's 60%. 43 out of the 54 newly elected Rajya Sabha MPs are also millionaires. Their average declared assets are over Rs 25 crore each. That's an awfully wealthy lot of people in whose hands we have vested out destiny. The assets of the average Lok Sabha MP have grown from Rs 1.86 crore in the last house to Rs 5.33 crore. That's 200% more. And, as we all know, not all our MPs are known to always declare all their assets. Much of these exist in a color not recognized by our tax laws.
The educated, peaceful and more enlightened members of the Society from the upper Classes do not like to go to the Polling Stations in India today to Vote. No wonder, the Voting Percentage in the Elections in India are much lower than is healthy in the biggest Democracy in the World. A 60/70 % Voters turnout is considered Very High in India. The Election in India is done on the Basis of Castes and is controlled by the Goondas of the Caste; descent people do not like to participate.
The Majority of the Nagas search for God in the Theology of the Bible but many still consult Fortune Tellers, false Prophets, Shamans, Diviners and Superstition. True Believers seem to be in insignificant minority, insufficient to form a confident Christian ETHOS in Nagaland.
The Christian Converts in India continued to practice Caste System in some of the Church’s Educational Institutes that discouraged Dr. Ambedkar from embracing Christianity. And, Exasperated with Caste System’s rejection of Equality and Human dignity to the Lowest Caste, Ambedkar said: “I was born a Hindu, I will not die a Hindu” He embraced Buddhism with 3,00,000 of his Dalits in a Mass Conversion function sometime before his death.
Until the Dalits, the Tribes in the North-East: -Bodos, Garos, Kukis, Karbis, Kacharis, Kabuis, Khasis, Mizos, Rongmeis, Tripuris and Nagas etc and the Tribes in India: Santhals, Gonds etc move out of the circle of Hinduism, there is NO HOPE OF THE FULLNESS OF LIFE for them.
OUTSIDE CHRISTIANITY, THE NAGAS HAVE
NO HOPE OF
REDEMPTION OR SOVEREIGNTY.
And though Japan, a non-Christian Nation attained affluence and prosperity through Technology; by the Grace of God, not by Luck, Nagas accepted Jesus Christ and like the Christian South Korea, with Christian Ethos, moved ahead of North Korea to affluence and prosperity; the Nagas, by the Grace of God and striving for Christian Standard of Ethos, would more than catch up with India in One Century if not sooner: already in one generation we are the 10th most literate State in India.
