Kohima, October 5 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Monday notified a state-wide ban on movement of government registered vehicles from October 12.

In a joint statement, the two federations cited State Government’s alleged inaction with regard streamlining 2010 and 2013 batches of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamika Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) teachers into the State Education Cadre.

The NSF and ENSF unanimously resolved to call for a "democratic agitation" on October 2 following the lapse of 30-day joint ultimatum submitted on September 2 as well as dissatisfaction at the inaction pertaining to a letter received from the State Government on September 23,  it said.

As part of the first phase of agitation, the ban on movement of government registered vehicles bearing NL-10 and NL-11 will be imposed from October 12 till further notice from the federations, added the statement issued by NSF President Ninoto Awomi and ENSF President Sepili L Sangtam.

However, vehicles on duty for medical services, Administration & Police, Fire & Emergency services will be exempted from the purview of the agitation, it said.

The federating units and sub-ordinate bodies of both the NSF and ENSF are also directed to "initiate necessary ground level preparation in their respective jurisdiction".

All concerned to cooperate with the agitation and cautioned that any "unwanted consequences upon its dereliction shall be the sole responsibility of the violators,” the statement added.
