State spokespersons meet Dimapur District Task Force

Kohima, June 5 (MExN): A meeting between spokespersons of the government for combating COVID-19 pandemic, Neiba Kronu, Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, and Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor for IT, S&T and NR, and the District Task Force Dimapur was held today in Dimapur.


During the daily briefing on June 5, Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha, informed that various issues of manpower and logistical concerns in the district and the need to identify COVID Care Centres for asymptomatic positive persons were discussed. The primary concern of arrangements for returnees and related issues were also deliberated, according to Sinha.


The efforts of Team Dimapur were appreciated by everyone as Dimapur has been shouldering the responsibilities of almost all districts for weeks together, he added.


The spokespersons also inspected the construction works at the BSL 2 lab and visited the CIHSR hospital, Dimapur, to explore avenues for the hospital to assist the State Government’s efforts.


Y Kikheto Sema, APC and Dimapur District in-charge for coordinating COVID-19 activities, Kesonyu Yhome, Secretary, Health, Honje Konyak, Secretary, Food & Civil Supplies, Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police, Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent of Dimapur district as well as elected representatives of Dimapur district also attended the meeting.


Sinha meanwhile informed that another Special Train carrying about 1300 stranded persons from Nagaland left Ahmedabad, Gujarat today and will reach Dimapur on June 8.
