Students from Ladakh visit Nagaland as part of national integration tour

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 29 (MExN): Former Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Alemtemshi Jamir met and interacted with a group of 16 school children and 4 teachers from Ladakh who were part of a National Integration Tour. This meeting took place as part of an initiative aimed at fostering national unity and understanding among students from different regions of India. 

A press release issued by the 164 Infantry Battalion TA (H&H) Naga informed that the National Integration Tour, organized by the Indian Army, serves to bridge cultural and geographical divides, giving young students an opportunity to explore other parts of the country and interact with diverse communities. These tours are instrumental in promoting national integration and allowing participants to gain firsthand experiences of the nation's rich cultural diversity.

During the interaction, Jamir warmly welcomed the children and commended them for being part of such an important program. He highlighted the significance of national unity and shared insights into Nagaland's culture, history, and its unique place in India's mosaic of diversity. He encouraged the students to learn from their travels and carry forward the message of national harmony and brotherhood.

The students from Ladakh expressed their excitement about visiting Nagaland, a state known for its vibrant traditions, scenic landscapes, and tribal heritage. They shared their experiences of the tour so far and conveyed how such initiatives helped broaden their perspectives about different parts of the country. 

Jamir, meanwhile, thanked 164 Infantry Naga TA for organizing the meeting, while highlighting the importance of cross-cultural exchanges in strengthening the bonds of unity across India’s diverse states. The National Integration Tour not only enhances students' knowledge of the country but also builds a sense of pride in India’s cultural and social unity, the press release underscored.
