
Kohima, February 20: Several students today marched the street of the state capital to spread awareness on safe drinking water and good sanitary practices on the occasion of the launching of “National Rural Drinking Water & Sanitation Awareness Week” here.
Students from different schools joined the rally from High school junction to secretariat junction with banners and placards.
Among the many placards carried by students included; “Save water. Save Life!,” “Stop pollution Quick, Don’t Make the Water Sick,” “Save water, It will save you later!,” “Save water, Your life depends upon it,” “Save a drop, Save the future,” “Saving water can save the world!,” “Walk in the desert, and you will realize the cost of water!,” “A drop of water is worth more than gold to a thirsty man,” “Conserve water, conserve life!,” “No matter your occupation. Water conservation is your obligation,” “Want mental hydration? Think water conservation,” “Pollution free, the way to be!,” “Give a helping hand, to save water, sky and land,” “Stop pollution quick, Don’t make the water sick,” “Be the solution to water pollution!,” “More water, More happiness,” “Today’s rain water is tomorrow’s life saver!,” “Without water, we’re all dust,” “When dirt and germs arise … Sanitize!!!,” “Your Health is in your hands,” “Wash your hands and drown the germs,” etc etc.
Other placards reads, Don’t be trashy, keep it clean, Sanitation is a human right, Sanitation sustains clean environments, Sanitation bring dignity, equality and safety, Sanitation is vital for good health, Sanitation is a good economic investment, Big or Small, Sanitation for All!, Water - the hope of life, No water, no forest, no life, Water and sanitation are the primary drivers of public health, Pearls do not sustain life, But drops of water do, Every little drop of water counts, let us save it, Scientists cannot save the world; People will save the world, Say no to open defecation, Hygienic living prolongs life, Wash hands with soap before meal and after defecation.
