Suspension of offline classes in Mkg schools from April 17- May 2

COVID-19 cases detected in some schools of Mkg town

MOKOKCHUNG, APRIL 16 (MExN): The Mokokchung district administration today informed that COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in some schools in Mokokchung town.

An order from the Deputy Commissioner therefore directed all government and private schools under Mokokchung Municipal Area and in the villages of Ungma, Chuchuyimpang, Khensa and Mokokchung to suspend offline classes from April 17 to May 2 and continue with online classes in order to contain the spread of the disease infection and for necessary contact tracing. 

“Private tuitions/home tuitions/coaching centres are similarly directed to suspend offline classes during the same period.

Further all parents of school students are hereby advised to take utmost precautionary measures and discourage their children from unnecessary loitering/movement outside their homes during this period,” the DC’s order added. 

It meanwhile stated that the ongoing HSLC/HSSLC examination will continue in all the examination centers under strict observation of all the laid down SOPs and COVID-19 protocols. Failure to comply with the aforementioned guidelines shall attract penalization under relevant section of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the order cautioned.
