Nagaland to take on Andaman today

Chümoukedima, November 23 (MExN): Madhya Pradesh Football Association secured an emphatic win over Himachal Pradesh, while Western India Football Association (Maharashtra) and Mizoram played out a thrilling draw in a Group D encounter on the second day of the Dr Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) at Chümoukedima Football Stadium.

In the first match, Trusha Parm opened the scoring for Madhya Pradesh in the 6th minute, followed by Nitya Phulre (15’), Komal Saket (45+1’), Bhariga Thevar (77’), and Akshra Kanojiya (90+6’) to complete a 5-0 victory.

However, the second match saw a high-intensity clash between Maharashtra and Mizoram.

Aanshi Khanna (6’) and Aarnaa Hardik Sindhav (30’) gave Maharashtra an early lead. 

Mizoram fought back through Jh Lalnunpuii (45+4’) and Vanlalmawipuii (72’), before late drama in stoppage time saw Aanshi Khanna (90+4’) briefly restore Maharashtra’s lead, only for Loisy Lalpekkimi (90+6’) to snatch an equaliser, ending the game 3–3.

The Tier 2 championship features 13 teams across four groups, competing for promotion to Tier 1. The tournament will conclude on December 11. 

The Tier 1 edition is concurrently underway at RDT Stadium, Anantapur Sports Village, Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, host Nagaland will look to bounce back from their opening match defeat when they face Andaman & Nicobar at 6:30 PM in the second round of Group B matches on Monday.
Punjab, currently leading the group, will take on Uttarakhand at 2:30 PM.
