Taxi driver found dead

(Photo Courtesy Social Media)   Morung Express News Kohima | September 3   A taxi driver was found dead at the Wokha road (NH 61) in Kohima on September 3. The body was discovered by Chiechama villagers at around 2:30 pm Sunday.   While the Kohima police refused to divulge any information, a youth leader from Chiechama informed that the body was found below a waiting shed near a road junction towards Nachama village.   The deceased was identified as Swuduve Nakro of Pholami village, Sakraba Circle, Phek district. Suspected to be a case of murder, the youth leader said that injury marks were found on the head and the taxi (Maruti Alto 800) he drove was missing.   The deceased was believed to be enroute Wokha when he last spoke with a family member. The youth leader said that on contacting the wife of the deceased, she recalled Nakro calling her Saturday night at around 8:30 pm. He had told her that he found passengers to go to Wokha.   Nakro was said to be the chairman of Mithun Farmers Club of Pholami village and was also serving as president of the BJP youth wing, Pholami. He had recently relocated to Merhülietsa colony, Kohima with his wife and five children. He had bought a car to be run as taxi after selling off his Mithun stock and obtaining a loan.   While it could not be ascertained whether post-mortem was conducted, it was informed that the police took custody of the body. The police later handed the body over to the family members.
