TGOUN students visit craft, weavers centre in Dimapur

The Department of Fashion Technology under The Global Open University, Nagaland (TGOUN) visited three craft and weavers centre in Dimapur area including Exotic Echo Society, Craft and Development Society both at Diezephe Craft Village. They also visited the Weavers’ Service Centre under Ministry of Textiles at Toluvi Village on September 26.  

As part of their academic curriculum, the students explored and studied the rich crafts and textiles of our state, the TGOUN stated in a press release. “The loin loom weaving particularly is becoming a dying textile which needs to be preserved by encouraging our younger generation to revive and experiment for the sustainability of our unique textile,” it added.  

The team consisted of Dr HN Dutta, Vice Chancellor, faculty members, PRO of TGOUN and students of 5th Semester BBA Fashion Design.
