The 1stMen’s Summer Star Championship, organised by the Basketball Association Tuensang District (BATD), concluded with a decisive victory by the Titans, who defeated The Red Ones 66-54 in the final match at Loyem Ground.
The Red Ones reached the final after a hard-fought semi-final win over Rampage, while the Titans secured their place by overcoming Blazed in their respective knockout match. The Titans’ triumph earned them a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and certificates, while the runner-up team, The Red Ones, received Rs 5,000 in cash and certificates.
Saoyang Chang of the Titans was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The prizes were generously sponsored by the Superintendent of Police, Tuensang, and Rozikyu Sangtam.
The closing ceremony featured a vote of thanks delivered by Moses Lachumong, President of BATD, and a closing prayer pronounced by Wabonger Aier, Executive Chairman of BATD. The event also included a free throw contest for women, in which Estherlemla emerged victorious, and a men’s three-point contest won by Toyang Chang.
The matches throughout the tournament were officiated by Moses Lachumong, Yangpikhumba, Keshi Imlong, and N Somba.
