Travel and stay of foreigners facilitated

Dimapur: The Government of India seeks to insured only legitimate foreigners travel. The entire state movement and departure of foreigners in India are regulated by Foreigners Act 1946, Foreigner Act 1948, Registration of Foreigner Act 1949, Registration of Foreigners Rule 1992 and Passport (entry into India) Act 1920 and execution order passed by Government of India time to time. All Foreigners are required to have a valid passport and Visa for travel and stay. The immigration process consists of entry, stay, movement and exit of foreigner.

All foreigners including Foreigners of India visiting India on long term (more than 180 days) are required to get themselves registered with the FRO concern having jurisdiction over the place where the Foreigners intend to stay within 14 days of arrival. The core objective of IVFRT is to develop and implement to secure an integrated service delivery from work that facilitates legitimate travelers while strengthening security.

In view of these factors, a workshop on Immigration Visa Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) module was held at Rendezvous Hall, Superintendent of Police Office, Dimapur on March 14.

Resource persons from NIC of Kolkata, Guwahati and Kohima conducted the programme and successfully installed in FRO Office Dimapur.

The workshop mainly focuses on how to fill the C-Form and S-Form. As per the law, foreigners arriving and staying should intimate/report to the Superintendent of Police –Cum-Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) of the district at the earliest. The C-Form relates to furnishing information by hotels/guest house/hospital/association. The education institution accommodating foreign students are required to submit the details in S-Form. The On-line module will make the process effortless for both the hoteliers and institution to submit the form without any hustle, [www.indianfrro.gov.in/frro/FormC (for accommodation) and www.indianfrro.gov.in/fsis (for institute)

This module is now made available in the district of Kohima and Dimapur for the convenience of the foreigners visiting and studying in our state as well as the concerned parties in providing the information at the earliest to the Superintendent of Police/FRO office Dimapur.

MHA is implementing Mission Mode Project (MMP) on Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration Tracking (IVFRT) under the National e- Governance Plan (NEGP). The Project envisages facilitation services to the travelers including on-line application from 24X7 online channel, phone support and Email/SMS report for dissemination of information, application status and feedback.

Foreigners in India may require various services like registration, visa extension, conversion visa endorsement in case of Foreigner Child Born in India etc. For this purpose, the MHA has developed centralized software for facilitating the foreigners to feel the on-line application through www.indianfrro.gov.in/frro for registration and visa extension/conversion etc. The centralized FRO module aims to automate all function related to all Foreigners registration, visa extension/conversion etc and other related services. The module focuses on transferring the service delivery mechanism with focuses on prompt, efficient and courteous service to the visitor.

Superintendent of Police cum Foreigners Registration Officer, Dimapur in a press release stated that Relo Aye, SDPO Dimapur, chaired the programme, and short speech by Superintendent of Police Dimapur. More that 70 (seventy) persons representing various hotels, institution, hospitals, churches, organization, association attended the workshop.
