Through this column, the Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) Apex Body of the Tribe would like to specify the rejoinder that appeared in the news item of The Morung Express on Thursday, the 30th July 2009, under the caption ‘GPRN/NSCN on killing of Tatar Rechungkiu’.
In this nexus, as far as the Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) is concerned in general or in particular, the above mentioned Tatar was killed by the GPRN/NSCN (IM) on 12th July 2008. The reasons for killing has been obviously clarified up to four points and published in the news item of The Morung Express on Tuesday, the 5th August 2008, which the caption read as ‘Clarification on the killing of CCM NSCN (K)’ by N.T. Yamthong Tikhir, the then CAO of Tikhir Region GPRN/NSCN (IM).
Hence, the GPRN/NSCN is pleaded to refer the news items of Tuesday on 5th August 2008 for clarification of the incidents.
The killing or elimination of Tatar Rechungkiu should not be blame either to Tikhir Tribal Council in general or in particulars to Khiapong, former president of Tikhir Tribal Council or to Tikhir Limitsong groups which is purely a Tikhir Tribal Volunteer Forces. Neither, the TTC in general or in particular or Tikhir Limitsong were implicated in the incidents in any manner. Moreover, both the TTC and Tikhir Limitsong have no knowledge about it at all.
The Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) also would like to state and clarify regarding the Tikhir Limitsong Organisation. The Tikhir Limitsong Action Committee is purely a Tribal Volunteer Forces. Its main objective is to safeguard the Tikhirs land. Its main duties and functions are discharging under the supervision of TTC within the Tikhir jurisdiction only.
The Tikhir Limitsong is neither a faction nor any anti-social groups and also has no hostility to any organizations.
Therefore, specifying the statements or allegations without concrete proof would lead to a mis-understanding between the GPRN/NSCN and the Tikhir general public at large for any forms of cordial relations and co-operation. The news item that appeared in all the leading local dailies on Thursday, the 30th July 2009 is totally baseless and unfounded elements. The news items that appeared might have been fabricated and published by some vested interest groups individually or collectively for in the name of GPRN/NSCN to create communal dis-harmony and divisive forces in the society.
Hence, the GPRN/NSCN is appeal not to take the news items seriously and put into reality that the TTC and Limitsong were involved in the incidents. Further, the TTC on behalf of the Tikhir general public is much hope that the GPRN/NSCN would believe to TTC statements or clarification and dismissed the publication of news items which appeared in the leading local dailies on 30th July 2009 as the case is a fabrication published by some vested interest groups to fulfilled their wild dreams and hidden agendas and moreover, the news items that appeared is a one year lapsed of incidents which occurred on 12th July 2008.
