
Tuensang, April 2 (MExN): In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Tuensang Chamber Of Commerce & Industries (TCCI), on April 2, has issued certain directives to the all business establishments, shops in Tuensang Town engaged in transportation of essential commodities from Assam and beyond.
The directives are being issued in the consultation of District Administration and the government health agencies involved in containing Covid-19, stated a press release issued by TCCI President, L Dorothy and General Secretary, Lichimpi Sangtam.
The TCCI also appealed all the truck owners and the drivers to bear with the inconvenience and treat it as part of duty of responsible citizens in helping to contain pandemic.
The TCCI’s directives as per the release are as follows:
All trucks shall halt at the police Check Post, Tuensang Town.
All trucks shall be sanitized by the screening team under the authority of CMO Tuensang
The truck drivers along with the handymen coming from Assam shall not enter the town.
The truck owners shall arrange a local driver to transport the truck for unloading and back to the police check post.
It is advised that all truck owners jointly make arrangements for the wellbeing of the drivers such as food and shelter etc for the drivers coming from Assam and beyond in the check post area in accordance with the preventive measures laid down by the concerned Govt health agencies.
The truck drivers and handymen are also advised not to halt or venture anywhere between Chare and Tuensang Town police Check post except for exigencies.
The truck owners shall strictly follow the directives. Action shall be taken for non compliance by the TCCI.
